Glitter as an Initiative

#sparkleinitiative - a compliment, a smile, a pat on the back have the power to transform and move mountains.

Every day there's a chance to sparkle. We know how that sounds! We, along with so many of you, get bogged down when watching the news or reading negative things right in your Facebook timeline. And sometimes those things are heavy and genuinely debilitating. We aren't suggesting a Pollyanna attitude. But close.  How do we handle it all without getting overwhelmed? Especially during the holidays?

Enter attitude. It's that thing only you can control on a daily basis, and it has the power to help or harm. So when we say that a little bit of sparkle can solve most problems, what we mean is that focusing on how to make a situation better, by doing only what we can control, can turn negatives into positives.

This holiday season is a great time to test out sparkle at holiday gatherings, and getting into the sparkly mood. Remember, the only thing you can control is yourself. Let go of other people's opinions and allow only the things that exude positivity into your realm of influence.

Moving and Shipping Box Trends to Watch

"Packaging for moving isn’t glamorous, but it’s where real-world design lives," a creative director told me at a print shop in Toronto. In that space, choices about substrates, inks, and how a box reads matter. The conversation often turns to **uline boxes**, because they sit at the intersection of utility, availability, and print practicality.

The industry is pivoting. Corrugated is steady in North America, yet how we design and print it is changing—leaning into Digital Printing for short-run SKUs, clearer iconography for handling, and smarter use of QR to guide packing. As uline boxes move in and out of homes and warehouses, we see the small decisions—type size, symbols, FSC logos—shaping the experience.

Four themes keep coming up in workshops with brand teams and converters: regional demand rhythms, digital workflows on corrugated board, sustainability that’s more than a tagline, and shifting consumer expectations. Each has consequences for the humble shipping box—and yes, for uline boxes that customers grab by the dozen when moving season peaks.

Regional Market Dynamics

North America has a distinct moving calendar.
