Glitter as an Initiative

#sparkleinitiative - a compliment, a smile, a pat on the back have the power to transform and move mountains.

Every day there's a chance to sparkle. We know how that sounds! We, along with so many of you, get bogged down when watching the news or reading negative things right in your Facebook timeline. And sometimes those things are heavy and genuinely debilitating. We aren't suggesting a Pollyanna attitude. But close.  How do we handle it all without getting overwhelmed? Especially during the holidays?

Enter attitude. It's that thing only you can control on a daily basis, and it has the power to help or harm. So when we say that a little bit of sparkle can solve most problems, what we mean is that focusing on how to make a situation better, by doing only what we can control, can turn negatives into positives.

This holiday season is a great time to test out sparkle at holiday gatherings, and getting into the sparkly mood. Remember, the only thing you can control is yourself. Let go of other people's opinions and allow only the things that exude positivity into your realm of influence.

Go forth and sparkle!

Gorilla Sealant, Adhesive & Packaging: Answers to Your Most Common Questions

Posted on Tuesday 28th of July 2026

Is Gorilla Sealant really waterproof? And how does the waterproof patch & seal hold up?

Short answer: yes, it’s waterproof once fully cured. But let me clarify something I see all the time – people assume “waterproof” means “apply it underwater.” It doesn’t. Like most polyurethane-based sealants, Gorilla’s waterproof patch and seal needs a dry surface and 24-hour cure before it can sit in standing water. I’ve tested it on outdoor equipment enclosures (we did a batch of 300 custom‑printed sealant tubes for a marine client in Q2 2024). After 48 hours, we submerged samples in salt water for 72 hours – zero leakage. The assumption is that all waterproof sealants are the same. The reality is that cure time and substrate preparation make the difference. Our spec sheet calls for 50°F–80°F and < 50% humidity during cure. Skip that, and you’ll get a weak bond.

Can Gorilla construction adhesive heavy‑duty actually hold up on concrete and metal?

Yes – if the surface is clean and rough. I’m not a structural engineer, so I can’t speak to load‑bearing calculations. What I can tell you from a quality‑control perspective: we ran a pull‑test on concrete blocks (ASTM C‑297) with our heavy‑duty construction adhesive. Average bond strength was 320 psi after 7 days. That’s in the same range as some epoxy anchors. But here’s the catch: you need to roughen smooth concrete with a wire brush first. People think stronger adhesive means you can skip prep. Actually, prep is what allows the adhesive to work – it’s not cause and effect. We rejected a batch of 500 tubes because the customer complained about a “weak” bond. Turned out they applied it to painted metal. Paint flakes, adhesive fails. Now every contract includes a surface‑prep clause.

How can I get custom packaging for a jewelry subscription box under $10?

That price point is achievable for mid‑size runs (2,000‑5,000 units) if you stick to standard sizes and one‑color print. We’ve done several jewelry subscription box inserts – the kind with a foam insert and a magnetic closure – for around $1.80‑$2.50 per box when ordering 3,000. The $10 figure I assume includes the product inside, not just the packaging. To be fair, small runs under 500 units will cost closer to $4‑$6 per box. A tip from our Q1 2024 audit: choose a mailer that fits USPS “letter” dimensions (max 6.125″ × 11.5″ × 0.25″) to avoid the $1.50 large‑envelope rate. Per USPS pricing effective January 2025, a 1‑oz letter costs $0.73 vs. $1.50 for a flat. That’s $0.77 saved per shipment – on 3,000 units, it pays for the box itself.

I keep seeing “ACH580 bypass manual” in searches – does Gorilla make anything for that?

I’ll be direct: we don’t manufacture or sell variable frequency drives or bypass manuals. That gets into electrical engineering territory, which isn’t my expertise. What I can tell you from a packaging standpoint: if you need a durable, water‑resistant manual cover or label for an ACH580 bypass controller, we can print those. We’ve done polypropylene overlays for industrial control panels that withstand oils and solvents. But if you’re looking for the manual itself, you’ll need to contact the drive manufacturer. I’d recommend checking their website for the latest revision – and while you’re at it, make sure your printed labels are solvent‑resistant if the drive sits near lubricants.

Is the Cirkul water bottle actually healthy? And what does packaging have to do with it?

I’m not a nutritionist, so I can’t speak to the health effects of flavor cartridges. From a material‑safety perspective, Cirkul bottles are made of Tritan copolyester (BPA‑free) – that’s generally considered food‑safe. But the question I hear more often is: “Is the bottle recyclable?” Per FTC Green Guides (16 CFR Part 260), a product can only be called “recyclable” if at least 60% of consumers have access to recycling facilities that accept it. Most Tritan bottles are recyclable under resin code #7, but curbside programs often don’t take it. We print labels for water bottles, and we always verify that ink meets FDA indirect food contact guidelines. One regret: early in my career, I approved a label with a “100% biodegradable” claim without checking the substrate – turns out the bottles weren’t compostable. That cost us a customer’s trust. Now we always cross‑reference FTC guidelines before signing off.

What’s the most common mistake people make when buying tape or sealants online?

Assuming “one size fits all.” I can’t tell you how many times someone orders a heavy‑duty construction adhesive for a delicate foam project – or vice versa. We review roughly 200 unique custom orders annually, and about 12% of first deliveries get rejected for spec mismatch. The biggest cause: people don’t specify temperature range and surface type. In 2023, a customer ordered our high‑strength tape for an outdoor sign – it failed in summer heat because they didn’t check the max operating temperature (140°F continuous). We now include a mandatory compatibility checklist with every order. The change increased satisfaction scores by 34% in Q1 2024. Simple.
