#sparkleinitiative - a compliment, a smile, a pat on the back have the power to transform and move mountains.

Every day there's a chance to sparkle. We know how that sounds! We, along with so many of you, get bogged down when watching the news or reading negative things right in your Facebook timeline. And sometimes those things are heavy and genuinely debilitating. We aren't suggesting a Pollyanna attitude. But close.  How do we handle it all without getting overwhelmed? Especially during the holidays?

Enter attitude. It's that thing only you can control on a daily basis, and it has the power to help or harm. So when we say that a little bit of sparkle can solve most problems, what we mean is that focusing on how to make a situation better, by doing only what we can control, can turn negatives into positives.

This holiday season is a great time to test out sparkle at holiday gatherings, and getting into the sparkly mood. Remember, the only thing you can control is yourself. Let go of other people's opinions and allow only the things that exude positivity into your realm of influence.

The Problem: When a Simple Search Goes Wrong

Look, I get it. You type something simple into Google—banners hallmark or free ecards birthday hallmark—expecting a quick answer. Instead, you get a page full of results that sort of relate but don't actually answer your question. Or worse, you end up on a site that's clearly designed to sell you something, not help you.

What most people don't realize is that Google's algorithm prioritizes commercial intent over informational accuracy. This worked for us, but our situation is a mid-size retail chain with predictable ordering patterns. If you're a seasonal business with demand spikes, your search patterns might be different—you might need more frequent coupon checks or occasional bulk orders for non-standard items. In that case, I'd recommend setting up price alerts or bookmarking specific vendor pages for your most-used items.

For virginia dmv manual: go directly to dmv.virginia.gov and search using their site search bar. Filter by document type. Don't trust third-party summary sites for official test information—they often omit recent changes to traffic laws.

Real talk: the best way to find specific answers fast is to narrow your query to match your specific context. The search engine can only work with what you give it. Be more specific, and you'll get better results.

Look, I'm not saying my approach is perfect. But in the 18 months since I started using this pre-check method, my team has caught 47 potential errors before they became ordering mistakes. That's 47 disasters avoided, roughly $3,000 in potential waste saved, and a whole lot fewer embarrassing customer calls.
